Maurizio Baiata, editor and Philip Mantle’s collaborator, commented Derrel Sims’ thoughts.

The most important argument, inside Sims’ matters, are two folds: over all the action of the researcher/therapeutist must be focused on subjects that are – during the conscious state -- able to recollect their experiences; it is necessary that the operator can avoid “screen-saver memories”. Substantially, Sims gives an antithetic indication in comparison to regressive hypnosis usual procedure. We are aware of the fact this could raise a lot of criticism from the part of those who –in Italy – substain the hypnosis unescapable qualities applied in this field. But in US and UK – the countries where abduction study has been much more closely examined - regressive hypnosis has been applied only as a side-function, by specialized people and in a cohordinate action with UFO researchers.
Sims was interviewed in a clever way by Lavinia Pallotta, with Carlo Sabadin’s collaboration: and so becomes transparent the journey of a man who seems having overcome a lasting stalemate situation about his own research – alien implants. The main criticism about his work, in the last years (criticism about the scientific results of the surgically extracted extraneous pieces, results that have never been showed), is breaking today in a position that Sims makes clear. He explains that, when you speak too much and out of place about implants as signals or transponders that make possible to find abductees out (as if aliens need a Cia technology), you produce and make easy a psycho-paranoid form of illness, that seems spread in pseudo-contactistic milieu. As if you say: abductee = implant carriers. Sims make us thinking.
The point of strenght of his current approach towards implants is not to be sure of their origins and functions only, but the evaluation – together with the subject – of the situation that he/she run into and about which he/she must become a conscious and proactive protagonist.
Anyway the impression is that, beside this change of route, Sims means: “Implants? Intersting, but not to make known, because dangerous”, in psychological terms over all. The impressin is that Derrel Sims is pointing his attention both on abductees and responsible subjects, and this is the reason why we are not on the finish line.
Are you deluded? Maybe this is right, because Sims has the humbleness for admitting not to have solved the problem. Who is the hunter? Who is the prey? Where is the trap? We can only know the answers by intuition, among the words of the interview.
It is not an auspice but a need: there is a lot to study and to work about abductions with a joint multidisciplinary great effort among different kinds of experts. Less we want close our eyes in the face of the extraordinary prerogatives that a so wide phenomenon, do secretive inside both psyhic and biological human life, is offering us.
